Trungelliti vs Ebden by Iniestaone

I've watched Ebden a couple of times since his comeback from his injury and its clear that he is recovering. He is climbing the rankings slowly and I think he should stay in Australia where he plays his best tennis for another few months and leave to play elsewhere after Australian Open. He won against Bourchier in his first round in Traralgon in three sets.

Trungelliti didn't impress in his first round as he won against 1223rd ranked Walkin 7-6 6-3 as a 1.04 favorite. He had a very good run in Las Vegas where he reached the semis and lost to Giraldo three days ago and I think this is where he gets his dip in form and loses a couple of matches early on in tournaments.

Ebden is better on this surface, is playing at home and is generally the better player. I'm backing him to clinch this one vs a Trungelliti who must have been very unsettled on the court vs Walkin. pin

Usually it takes some time to adjust to the new conditions after you change the continent, the time zone, the weather conditions ... Trungelliti came from USA, so that result againt Walkin might not be as relevant as it seemed to you as he played just the third day after playing in the other hemisphere :)

But he went to Traralgon the same night he lost to Giraldo in Vegas. I think he's had more than enough time to dominate a player who is ranked outside the top 1000.

It was the first match ... sometimes players chose to play a few more games in order to use them for adjusting to the new conditions :)

I'd bet on Trungelliti. He is in-form and more quality player. Ebden's days have passed. He will never be the player he used to. Worth mentioning is that in the first round he lost the first set to rank 1000+ player.
