St. Pauli vs Hertha by MikeElPatron
Let's start with St.Pauli:
They won 3-0 at home against Lubeck in the last round of the cup. Lubeck is a team from Regionalliga Nord (Something like 4th division), so we can´t have conclusions of this game.
St. Pauli is actually in Bundesliga II, in 18º position (last position) with this record 1W-2D-7L and 7 goals scored and 18 received. Bad numbers to the local team.
At home they perform better, but they did good only against weak teams like 1860 Munich (15º) or Bielefeld (17º). But for example, against Aue (14º) they lost 1-2 (2 weeks ago) shooting only 3 times to target.
Hertha won Regensburg (1:2 in the penalties) in the last round. Regensburg plays in 3 Liga.
Amazing start for this team. They're actually 3rd position in Bundesliga. Hertha only lost points, playing away against top teams. They already played in the Allianz Arena (3:0 lost), in the Signal Iduna Park (1:1) and in the Eintracht stadium, sorry I don´t know the name, (3:3).
Last game for Hertha was an amazing game against Koln, a difficult game that they resolved pretty well. (2:1)
Bundesliga website writed "Hertha enjoying club record start".
The Cup is a different tournament, big teams can struggle to win weaker teams. St.Pauli is playing home, if they play in a deffensive way, and they take advantage of some opportunities, they can win or draw this game. It's a good idea to go in with an asiatic handicap, but I think the difference of performance between the two teams is so big to take the risk.
BTW, I was in January at Hamburg, nice city (But I got fined cause I didn't buy a U-Bahn ticket). They have a good stadium, it's pretty closed and with a lot of supporters it can be overwhelming.
