Bourgue vs Mesaros by Khum
ATP Challenger Lima
Mathias Bourgue - Kristijan Mesaros
Kristijan Mesaros came back this year after some injury period and he performed well in ITF tournaments in Europe. This time he's trying to level up as he's travelling to Lima at the peruvian challenger tournament. But he's won only 1 match in his 8 attempts during the past 3 years. And in Lima the conditions are a bit different, as they are playing over 1500 meters altitude. Breathing is different, the ball is travelling faster, jumping higher and their endurance is tested.
In the meatime, Mathias Bourgue, which is already a somewhat of a better player overall, has played in the last week in Latin America too, and has made the transition to the high altitude conditions playing in Santiago, at over 500 m altitude. In Chile he performed quite well, reaching the qurterfinals after a very good win to Nicolas Kicker.
I think at this point the Frenchman is the better player, the most inform and the most likely to fit the special conditions in Lima and if I were a bookmaker I wouldn't give him more than 1.45 odds today.
Let's go green!
