Pliskova vs Davis by Estebaneiro
Pinnacle still has decent odds on this one, while e.g. Bet365 has just 1.66.
Kristina Pliskova might still be overshadowed by her higher ranked twin sister, but she is cutting her own way through the WTA rankings and recently she claimed her second title this season in Tashkent. Maybe there were no top tier opponents, but still beating Hibino in the final, or players like Nara, Kromacheva or Kozlova deserves some recognition because these are all top 100 players, which should not be as far from Lauren Davis currently ranked on 85th place.
Pliskova is made for fast surfaces, and she did her job well here going through three rounds of qualifications and also beating Oceane Dodin in the first round of main draw. Dodin is also experienced indoors, and was a favourite in that clash, but Pliskova was able to take her down, and serving 19 aces on the way, surely helped her a lot. Yes, Pliskova service is a good one and she usually has high percentage of 1st serve points won, and decent number of aces.
Lauren Davis is also experienced playing indoors although she doesn't have such stingy serve, but she does pretty well in fast paced matches and this season on indoor hard she is 5W 2L (Pliskova is 8W 2L), so it doesn't have to be a walk in the park. However, with Pliskova's form on the rise in recent weeks, I think that she can be trusted to win this one.
