Liverpool vs Man. United by Rahul
Liverpool are in great form coming into this game on the back of a 5 game winning streak and aiming to continue that run against their bitter rivals. Liverpool have strengthened well this season with great supporting cast to help forward Daniel Sturridge. Coutinho, Firmino and Sadio Mane have all been in great form sitting in the roles right behind Sturridge giving him great service as well as another option to draw defenders out to give him more room to play. Liverpool have counter attacked with great speed which has surprised a lot of teams and is typical of a Jurgen Klopp team. What actually turns out to be their difficulty are the struggles they are facing not he defensive end. Liverpool have chopped and changed around their defensive unit continuously while also placing keeper Lorius Karius between the sticks instead of Mignolet. Liverpool have conceded goals in 7 out of 7 games in the Premier League so far this campaign, which will be their major cause of weakness.
Manchester United have been a mixed bag under Mourinho so far, looking brilliant against teams like Leicester and then ordinary against teams like Stoke City. What will have Mourinho in confident mood is that his troops have been in scoring form, finding the back of the net in every single game they have played this season. With the new found attack of Ibrahimovic, Rashford, Mata and Mkhitarayan; a lot of pressure will rely on them with captain Rooney demoted to the bench. Anthony Martial is another pacey player who can come off the bench to provide support for United to give them options. Defensively, United have been prone to a lot of mistakes conceding goals in 5 out of 7 games this season. The inability for Mourinho to find some consistency in his back line has seen this change through the season. United are expected to start with Bailly and Smalling at the back with Blind and Valencia in the winger positions.
Both teams have improved their attacking strength this season, so it should come as no surprise that over on the goal line would be the way to go especially since it has landed in 5 out of 7 games of Liverpool and 4 out of 7 in Man Utd games. It would have landed in 5 out of 6 Premier League meetings between the 2 sides.
