Botafogo vs Internacional by Filipson

The odds are really tempting for this one and I simply have to try. The hosts have had an amazing season so far, given the fact they've come from Serie B. The hosts are knocking on Copa Libertadores door, as they are sitting on the 7th place with just a point less than Atletico-PR and 2 less than Fluminense, so they have a shot to claim even the 5th place in case of a win tonight. They've been in a really good form lately, with 3 wins in the last 4 matches, all 3 without conceding, and they really didn't deserve to lose against America MG on the road, who had one pretty unexpected series of results, taking points in many consecutive matches. Moreover, Botafogo have performed really well in the league at home during the last couple of months, as they have only 1 defeat in the last 11 home matches, winning 7, which is a pretty great achievement. They can score goals here, but I think that their defence has been in a very nice shape lately, and it has allowed very few goals in the last couple of games. The hosts will be without Bruno Silva who is serving suspension after picking 3 yellow cards, but other than that we should see an unchanged squad.

Internacional have won in their last 2 matches, but they really haven't shown much. They barely managed to score a goal in both matches, and they were pretty lucky against Coritiba. The guests scored in the 86th minute from a questionable penalty kick, while Coritiba's Luan had missed the penalty kick few minutes before that. I haven't seen much from them lately, and we simply cannot take these two wins that seriously, especially as the 1st one came against the terrible side of Figueirense. Moreover, Internacional are very bad on the road, with the score 2-3-9, 13 goals scored and 22 conceded, and on top of that they are without an away win in the last 12 games. I know they are fighting for the survival and desperately need points, but the hosts are also eager to win and they seem way better at the moment. If we take everything under consideration, I just cannot see Internacional getting away with anything here. Good luck!

Great call here and excellent preview. Just a note than even though Botafogo is coming from Serie B, it is a very traditional team, a really big club in Brazil. It would be a surprise to not see them come back to Serie A in great style. The other point is that in beginning of the season they did not have a home stadium to play in, since their home stadium was being used during the Olympic Games. They played their first home matches on neutral ground, so if you consider only the games played in Rio, their home record is top 3 in the league.
