PSG lost their previous game away against Monaco 1:3. Now they are back home ready to win again against Saint Etienne who should not cause any problems on PSG's home turf.

PSG finished their pre-season friendly cup with a perfect record: 4 wins out of 4, against Leicester, Real Madrid, Inter and West Brom. They went on to dominate the French Super Cup by winning 4:1 against Lyon. Then they got an 1:0 away win and a 3:0 home win in the league. And then they lost then they lost an away game against Monaco 1:3. They did not play too bad but were clearly unfocused and the result was fair.

Saint Etienne's started the season with a 2:3 away loss against Bordeaux. But they showed better game in front of their fans, winning their next league game 3:1 and drawing the next home game 0:0. In between these games they also managed to progress in the Europa League against a weaker opposition Beitar Jerusalem, an Israeli football club, with an aggregate score of 2:1.

Now PSG is clearly the better team. There are also some stats that suggest a big PSG win. PSG always bounce back after an unappealing result:

PSG drew 1:1 with Bordeaux; PSG won their next game 4:0 at home

PSG lost against Man. City 0:1; PSG won their next game 6:0 at home

PSG drew 2:2 with Man. City; PSG won their next game 2:0 away

PSG lost against Monaco 0:2; PSG won their next game 4:1 at home

PSG drew 0:0 with Montpellier; PSG won their next match 2:1 (against Chelsea) and their next league game 9:0 away.

This "bouncing back" record goes a long way, especially the league record. And PSG home record? Exceptional - 20W3D1L in 2016. A loss against Monaco, draws with Man City, Montpellier and Lille. +PSG have won their last 9 games against St. Etienne. I predict PSG to win with at least 2 goal difference.

Paris Saint-Germain are struggling with a number of issues coming into Friday's Ligue 1 clash with AS Saint-Etienne at Parc des Princes.
The French champions are missing captain Thiago Silva, right back Serge Aurier and left back Maxwell through injury, while David Luiz's last minute Transfer Deadline Day return to Chelsea means that even at full strength, Unai Emery only has three natural central defenders to choose from.
Further up the pitch, Javier Pastore is also still missing as he continues to be plagued by a calf problem that first surfaced last season.
As if that was not enough, Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Marquinhos are all doubts after featuring in South American 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers during the recent international break.

Kurzawa and Kimpembe have been their regular starters this season. Meunier was subbed in for David Luiz last game. PSG would not have sold Luiz if Meunier was not able to take his place.

Kurzawa - Kimpembe - Meunier - RB

PSG just need to replace Aurier. Besides, Cavani, Di Maria and Marquinhos are not too big doubts. I believe they are fit to play regardless of the 2-day in-between games. Cavani played only 70 minutes and scored two goals, so I believe he can play easily and even pop some goals.
