Another team (along with Sochaux, of course) who must be very frustrating after the 5th round results should be Niort. Travelling at Bourg Peronnas they took a comfortable lead 2-0, and seemed they head to their first win of the season in front of one of the poorest team in the league. But a 92nd min goal conceded made the game to end all square 2-2, Bourg reducing from handicap in 65th minute (3 minutes later since N’Doh scored for 2-0) thanks to Heinry. Really pity for them because I don’t see them having many chances to win on the road. What is true is they made a good game but, let’s face it, against a poor team who is still sitting on last spot of the table. Lack of concentration till the final whistle of the referee cost them a huge and important win. They still remain a limited squad, with little to show, far away of their nice football they’ve played in some part of previous seasons (even they scored few goals, but at least they’ve created plenty of chances…which is not happening in this campaign though). They signed with an interesting young from Valenciennes Slidjia (who finally choice Niort instead of Clermont, but not in the squad yet). Lahaye and Mayembo remain injured.
No many surprises regarding Nimes’ results. As in previous season they started the present of quite slowly. No win after first 5 games and Nimes are for the moment on 18th spot with only 2 points. In last game they hosted Amiens (who came after a nice away win at Lens 1-0) and at HT seemed they are able to take their first win. With 2 goals scored by new comer Alioui (second one a masterpiece) Nimes entered with a fragile advantage 2-1. And this despite Amiens was slightly better and put a lot of problems upfront. After the break Amiens continued to make their attacking football scored twice and missed another few opportunities. Overall was a deserved win for Amiens. After this game remain plenty of problems for Nimes. After they sold almost complete offensive department, the new comers are still searching being bellow par at the moment. Is true Alioui scored his first goals to Nimes but all fans expect this to keep going. Savanier and Diabate are suspended and will not play here. They signed with ex-Tours offensive minded player young Kouakou (very good in previous L2 season with Tours) on loan from Caen. Also after some discussions with other teams, who failed, Cissokho remained at Nimes.
Another tough game for poor Niort. Despite losing in previous round Nimes shown a good offensive game. Also at Strasbourg they were close to take a win against a strong home team. With Alioui in form and with new Kouakou in first 11 I see Nimes slight better. Perhaps their first win of the season for Nimes? Back them to take all points, covering AH0+. gl
