Lens took a creditable point away at Troyes after a nice game. Is true Lens defended well for most of the game having some good counters. Their display was changed after they received, an easy awarded penalty, converted by Bostock, earlier in the game. Then they let Toryes to have the ball, defending well enough. Anyway keeping in mind offensive problems Lens shown so far wasn’t at all a surprise they made the step back after the goal. Their defense resisted till 60 mins when Darbion scored after a confuse Troyes phase. The game ended 1-1 a good point for Lens after all. With this point they collected only 6 points with 3 draws in the process. In these 5 rounds they had some mixed evolutions, the best one being on the road at Nimes. But a lot of weak signs in offensive in many moments. That’s way Lens were the most active team in the last days of transfer period bringing in few strikers: C. Lopez (ex CFR Cluj Romania – I didn’t see them playing, but from what I’ve read in Romanian papers he is a very good striker), Klonaridis (ex-Panathinaikos) and Guira; these all signed came after Lens took a defender Hafez (ex-Lierse, but wasn’t called up for this game). So let’s wait a bit and I am sure we will see a more powerful, in attack, Lens. Guira (wasn’t called up for this game) and Koukou were at NT last weekend. Banza, Olsen, Loick Landre and Cvetinovic wasn’t called up.
If in the previous season Bourg Peronnas was one of the pleasant surprise, starting the season in great style, for the moment in actual season, they are rock bottom with only 2 points won after 5 games. Both points came at home, in first and last round, but in both they had plenty of luck. If in first game they were dominated by Ajaccio, in last one they were down 0-2 against Niort after 65 minutes of play but somehow they leveled in the remained time scoring twice. Last goal came in 92 minutes, a goal that put an end to a series of 3 consecutive defeats. To be honest they didn’t make a bad team, but is difficult to take this as a positive fact keeping in mind they met one of the poorest team in the ligue 2 (of course after they shown in first 5 rounds). Still some injured players in their camp, players who virtually can change the face of the team when will be fit. Till then Bourg Peronnas must cope with what they have now cause weren’t at all involved in latest days of transfer campaign. Some problems with injured players.
At a first glance this is the most unbalanced game of the week. With new signing I expect a much powerful Lens and I expect a fist clear home win for Lens in this season. Back Lens – 1 ah. gl
