For the 2nd consecutive trip, AC Ajaccio lost, even this time they made a better game than at Orleans. Playing at Clermont, they opened the score in first half thanks to a nice goal scored by new comer Nouri and somehow, controlled first half. But once again a poor second half destroyed the good things they shown in first half, conceding twice in 2 minutes’ interval due to a lack of concentration (true is the first goal was a masterpiece, but why Guerbert was alone in that position?). If in friendly before the season striker Gapka shown a fantastic form, in championship he had shown nothing yet. Together with new signings Maazou+ Nouri, Ajaccio should have a good enough offensive compartment. But so far Ajaccio proved to remain a solid team only on their own pitch, on the road taking only a point in 3 games. They brought another 2 defensive players in latest days of transfer campaign: ex Evian Abdallah and Fall. Ex-OM young Araai also signed with Ajaccio. Sainiati remain injured while Lippini is suspended
Red Star remains without a win after 5th round. Hosting LeHavre, they took only a point 0-0 after a nice game, with plenty chances on both parts. A first half with Red Star more present in LeHavre pitch, but with Duhamel missing the most dangerous chances of the LeHavre right after 2 minutes of play. LeHavre GK Farnolle was in good shape and saved what he had to save. After the break Red Star seemed a bit fatigue and this permitted to LeHavre to have initiative and to miss another good chances. From the Red Star point of view was a good point, but for sure, LeHavre deserved more. Almeida’s boys are still searching first win of the season and keeping in mind their play improved lately this should come soon. Finally, the soap opera Sliti came to an end, this being sold at Lille in the latest days of transfer period. Also Jean-Tharat who came in June left the team for Anger (anyway he was suspended for this game). Young midfielder Mexique from AS Monaco was loaned for this season; but overall Red Star is clear weaker than in previous season, after this transfer campaign. Still injured important Mendy, Keita and Makhedjouf.
On their own pitch Ajaccio is a strong team. Red Star is still searching to improve and despite latest results I don’t see them taking something from this game. Last year Red Star won here putting a lot of pressure on Ajaccio involved in relegation battle. Now somehow the things are changed so I don’t expect Ajaccio to show any kind of merci so, back home win -0.75 AH.gl
