I am not quite sure why the odds are set so high, like Serena is supposed to play against some low-ranked player. She has been really dominant on this tournament, winning all 4 matches so far without losing a single set, but let'sbe honest, she hasn't had such a strong opponent so far. Shvedova, Larsson, King, Makarova are all decent players, but nothing more, while Halep is something completely different. Serena won't have such an easy job here, as the 5th player in the world will also try to win this match. Simona Halep has also been really good so far, losing only 1 set, and she has had a harder way thought the finals, especially in the last match against Suarez Navaro. Halep is in a great shape on hard court, with 17 wins in the last 20 matches, winning the tournament in Montreal against the 9th placed Keys. On top of that, Serena has struggled a bit against Halep in the last 2 years, and she was able to make only 1 break per set in most of their duels, and we have also seen tie-breaks. Nobody says Serena won't win, but I simply do not think it will be that easy. It seems quite realistic to me to see Serena winning the 1st set 6:4, why not. Good luck to all!
