Wycombe is struggling at early stages of new campaigns and all those struggles were expected. Limit finances and another injury crisis to key players left big impact on squad. Wycombe was outplayed in every league game so far this season and facing on-form Luton away from home won’t make things look easier. Wanderers travelled to Kenilworth Road without Luke O`Nien (1/0), Scott Brown (1/0), Max Müller (0/0), Weston (1/0), Cowan-Hall (0/0), Marcus Bean (4/0), Joe Jacobson (4/0). You may note that apart from Bean and Jacobson other players didn’t featured a lot so far this season so someone may call them “unimportant missing” but in fact pacey wingers Paris Cowan-Hall and Myles Weston are huge misses, Cowan-Hall is one of the best (if not the best) winger in this league. While the absence of midfield dynamo Luke O`Nien has also been deeply felt. Pierre isn’t in good from, in his days he is absolute rock in defence but failed to impress at early stages. So Wanderers without plenty of key personals and current league position (19th place) is perfect example how badly Wycombe is missing injured players.

Luton play some great football in opening rounds. Even when they lost back-to-back matches level of performances was admirable and Town players were just a bit unlucky (16 shots against Stevenage, 9 on target but conceded goal on 90 minute with 1-1 scoreline) . Marriot and Hylton are clicking well up front while keeping McGeehan (5/3) in squad despite big interest from Championship clubs is big boost. In midweek Cup game Luton made 11 changes so regular players will be well rested.

Wycombe need key players back from injury, but with depleted squad once again I don’t see any improvements here They’ll try to sit back and defend 0-0 and used to be great team in such games with Ingram on goal and 2 rocks in frot of him Mawson and Pierre (they almost won promotion with those squad) but now only Pierre left who looks less reliable, so defensively thet are much weaker and hardly can play for 0-0 against early pace sitters, while offensively Wycombe never looked potent without Cowan-Hall in past 3 seasons (they scored just 3 goals in 5 league games).

I’m a bit surprised with this price. Luton is much better side here and will control the game, hopefully they will convert chances onto goals.
