Shelbourne vs Athlone Town. Home win 1.25 - Away win 11.00

If we look carefully at the form of Shelbourne, we can see that their last victory was in July, and that against Cabinteely. After that, there were only defeats. Form looks terrible.

Certainly, the same can be said about Athlone Town. Also terrible. Last win was indeed a few days ago (against Cabinteely too), but except of that, we only see defeats.

So, we keep on mind that team forms are similar.

We also note that there isnt any motive in this match. No one is going to be relegated. Why should any team bleed to win?

And finally, the last time they met, Athlone won 1-0 at home. The bookmaker's odds for home win that time were 17.00!

I note that for two reasons:

1) teams do not seem to have big differences in their performance

2) odds sometimes are indeed inappropriate

In Conclusion,

Odds seem to be wrong. A team that did not win since July, in my opinion can not be a 1.25 odds favorite.

I 'll bet on Athlone Town (+0,5) AH, (the same as double chance) with pretty much good odds.

Noticed those odds and thought something is wrong. Imo +1,5 line for athlone is very much playable and chances for this is Over 50%.

Athlone changed the whole team some weeks ago becoming very weak, this is the reason for these odds. I think Shelbourne will win, because new Athlone seems a disaster away (5-1 against poor Cabinteely), however I agree that value is on away team, even if is a risky bet, 'cause Shelbourne could take advantage of the fragile opponent to break the bad serie and get a big win. In the last h2h there was heavy rain on the pitch and that was good for Athlone...
