Round 6

Portsmouth vs Crawley Town

Portsmouth is a better team. Last year they reached the play-offs, but did not achieve to promote. On the other hand Crawley Town finished in the 20th position last year, to avoid relegation.

But However both teams have a similar form: 2 wins - 2 draws - 1 defeat at the beginning of the Season.

Portsmouth managed to get 3 points at Exeter in the last game, converting a penalty 5 mins before the end of the match. (0-1)

On the other hand, Crawley Town lost at home (1-3) against Notts County despite scoring first at the begin of the 2nd half. Unfortunately few minutes later, they conceded the equalizer with an own-goal, to finally lose 1-3.

Last Tuesday, the teams had also to play a match for the League Trophy. Crawley won at home against Colchester (1-0) and Portsmouth lost away (4-3) against Yeovil. To be fair, these kind of matches in these kind of Competitions are not designed for someone to draw conclusions, for a number of reasons.

In summary:

No one denies that Portsmouth is a better team, regarded again as a candidate for promotion by the bookmakers and they play at home. We do have a favorite here indeed.

On the other hand, Crawley did well so far, they have a similar form in comparison to their opponents and in my opinion the odds are underestimating them.

Odds such as 9,50 for away win are exaggerated and in my view they are of value.
