Botev Plovdiv vs Neftochimic by GlacialSpirit

Botev-Plovdiv
VS
Neftochimic
The 5th round of the Bulgarian First League opposes the teams of Botev Plovdiv and Neftochimic Burgas. The hosts will be looking to get out of the crisis they felt in.

Head Coach Nikolay Kostov along with his assistants and Sporting Director Georgi Markov all set their resignations after the disappointing loss against Vereya last round. So far Botev ha spicked up only 4 points 2 if which came after the controversial game against Slavia Sofia finished 3-2 after 2 interesting red cards. The first one was for two yellow carded fouls in the space of 1 minute and the second one was for the goalkeeper who threw a ball against a kid. The team will be led by u19 manager Ivan Kochev along with head of youth development Kirov. Other interesting thing is the releasing of former Bulgarian international defender Kostadin Stoyanov. I suspect that some of the players were sabotaging the work of Kostov and didn’t want to perform. With the new coaches the players will be eager to show themselves and I believe they will show a lot more determination this time.

Neftochimic Burgas managed to spring a surprise last round defeating Beroe. They didn’t play well at all but somehow Beroe managed to miss all their scoring chances. Those 3 points helped Neftochimic to climb up to its current 11th place. Despite the victory the team still hasn’t shown anything positive. They make costly mistakes at the back and lack any kind of creativity in midfield. So far the team has scored only 3 goals and doesn’t look like they’ll improve. Head coach Dimcho Nenov will have to improve his team in several areas to stay clear of the relegation zone. Veteran target man Kostadin Hazurov will probably lead the line again despite failing to find the net this season. Angel Granchov will probably start in the heart of the defence to partner Randzhelovic after being benched the previous one.

Neftochimic are a team destined to fight for relegation this season. They will most probably focus their attention on their home games as they are one of the teams which plays on its own stadium. Botev will try to get out of the crisis and with the change in the hierarchy I believe we will see one strongly determined side. This combined with the better quality in the team and the home advantage calls for home victory. Still I’ll play it safer with DNB as the change of head coach may still turn either way.
