Brondby vs Panathinaikos by Mrgol

Quite a risky bet considering that guests already won 3-0 on their own field, so could leave space to Brondby for a minimal win.

Anyway Panathinaikos seems will put on field more or less same first eleven of first leg.

Nano ( def. 21+3 last season, played only 22 minutes from bench in first leg) is only player left out because probably he will be sold.

First round of Greek championship was postponed, so Panathinaikos is fresher then the opponent, Brondby with very good performances, on Sunday trashed AGF 7-0 in league, but for this match they have some problems.

After huge disavantage to recover they could lack of motivations and it is to consider that they'll have on of the biggest matches in Denmark Brondby - Copenhaghen on Sunday.

Plus, regular keeper Ronnow is banned for racism, in goal will be Toppel, 34 years old keeper but that in last two season played only one game in league, one game in local cup and replaced Ronnow in first leg.

Also usual starter defender Crone ( 4+2) is banned as other two less important players.

Considering these absences and that lack of motivations could affect hosts i think Panathinaikos could gain at least a draw here

Pana Fan
I was in the stadium in Athens. Pana had a very good game and all fans were really happy with
the result. Pana this year is hard to beat and scores alot. I expect a very good game and may be
a repeat of the score against AIK.

I know the fans is really motivated. People in Brondby is mad over last weeks result, where they think the refeere made a huge mistake by giving their goalkeeper a redcard + penalty.

I also know for a fact that they want to win because of bad blood between the two teams, as the Swedish player Marcus Berg for Pana suppositly called Brondby's Phiri for a monkey.

I expect a lot of goals this match, as Brondby will attack for the first minute and over 2,5 on bet365 seems like great value to me.

Having read the preview by Mrgol, I feel the need to correct a few mistakes. As Mrgol's yeald is very good, I expect that he usually has good insights and know what he is doing but in this case, he's got it very wrong.

First of all, the red card to Rønnow was NOT due to racism, let's make that clear. He fouled a Panathinaikos player in the penalty area, which the referee then converted to a penalty (probably correct, but as Rønnow actually did get the ball, it's debatable) and a red card to the keeper, which is simply not correct according to the new regulations.

There was indeed racism in the match, but it came from Panathinaikos' Swedish player, Marcus Berg, who called Brøndby's South African player Phiri a "monkey". Later, when confronted with this, he just said that players say a lot of things during the match (he "couldn't recall" if he had in fact called Phiri a monkey) and he thinks the Brøndby players "should just behave professionally and forget about it". What an idiot. He apparently does not agree with the "Say no to racism" campaign that UEFA run. He is sure to get a tough night as the home fans have singled him out.

Now, Mrgol also believes that there is a lack of motivation for the home team. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Brøndby team and fans alike are extremely motivated to revenge the defeat in the first leg and there is a growing belief that they can indeed win by the required margin against the greek team. The first match was very even until the first red card, and obviously after the second red card, the game became very one-sided. Brøndby won 7-0 away in the league during the weekend and that result has installed a lot of confidence in the team, which is already on a higher spirit than it has been for a number of years following the arrival of new head coach Alexander Zorniger who has worked wonders with the team.

I would bet on a home win as the most likely outcome since I wasn't that impressed

I dont like Brøndby, but the ref. was terrible for Brøndby in first game. Bet over 2.5 here.
