Milwaukee vs Colorado by Sors
The right-hander went 3-0 with a 2.23 ERA in his first five starts after the All-Star break, but had obvious problems in the last two, surrendering 18 hits and 12 runs over nine innings of a 5-11 home loss to Cincinnati on Aug. 13 and at Wrigley Field last Thursday (6-9).
Davis, for whom it will be first start against the Rockies, went 6-4 with a 3.86 ERA in fourteen games at Miller Park in 2016.He gave up 16 hits and 8 runs over twelve innings in the last two of them.
The Colorado Rockies will give the ball to Tyler Anderson (4-4 with a 3.69 ERA) for Wednesday’s series finale.
The rookie left-hander pitched well in his first eleven MLB starts, as he’s allowed two runs or fewer and lasted at least six innings in nine of those eleven outings.
On the other hand, the 26-year-old pitcher wasn’t at his best in his last two starts, in which he gave up 10 hits and 9 runs (including three homers) despite striking out ten batters over ten innings of a 3-6 loss at Philadelphia on Aug. 13 and against the Cubs last Friday (7-6).Anderson has never faced the Brewers or any of their hitters before.
The Brewers have scored six or more runs in four of their last six games (3-3), including 10 runs on 12 hits in the previous two games of this series on Monday (4-2) and Tuesday (6-4).
The Colorado Rockies have .276 BA, with 44 runs and 8 HR from their last seven games (4-3).
I expect more than seven runs in the final game of this series between the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies.
