Malaga vs Osasuna by Atipico07
Malaga: Malaga missed qualification to this season's UEFA Europa League competitions by only four points and they are looking for a better place this season trying to play in Europe next year.
Malaga did a lot of changes this summer: they have a new manager Juande Ramos and the team also added a few key players with Spanish wingers Jony and Keko from Sporting Gijon and Eibar respectively, and Burkinabé center back Bakary Koné from Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Lyonnais. On the other hand, Raul Albentosa moved to Deportivo La Coruna and striker Duje Cop transferred to Sporting Gijon. Malaga is the better side here..as you can see, they moved well this summer and they should be able to win this match. They played very good during preseason as they won 7 matches out of 9 played losing only a game. First match will be not easy for them as Osasuna is a dangerous team but they should be able to win 3 points.
Osasuna: Osasuna finished sixth place in the Spanish second division last season and won a playoffs against Gimnastic, Girona, and Cordoba to qualify for promotion. Enrique Monreal, who joined the squad last summer, will still coach his team in this new experience. The Los Rojillos has a miserable pre-season after losing in 5 if the 7 friendly matches. They managed to win only a game against the reserve side of Sevilla. The only good result was a 1-1 draw against Bordeaux. They are coming to this match after a 1-5 loss against Rayo Vallecano and their defense looked not that good during friendly matches. Enrique said that they will play for 3 points today..they are excited to play in La Liga but they also know that they need to play good level of football against better teams to survive. I think that Osasuna will, first of all, try to not concede more than 2 goals today. Their defense should be almost the same of last year and they should be able to defend well.
-Five of the last eight matches between these two sides in all competitions were draws. While Malaga won twice and Osasuna were victorious in only one game.
-Malaga won only once in the last five home games against Osasuna, losing 1 and drawing three times.
All I see here is Osasuna trying to not concede and Malaga dominating the ball possesion. Malaga, as I said before, had a lot of changes and this will be not their best game of the season as this will be first official game for most of Malaga's new players.
