Southampton vs Watford by Hacz
Southampton had a very strong last season, with only 5 losses at home vs strong teams (Everton, Man Utd, Stoke, Spurs & Chelsea). After christmas their home-form was outstanding; 8-1-1 with +17 goal difference.
Okey, many would think they could get a difficult season after the loss of success manager Koeman, and hiring frenchman & former Nice manager Claude Puel. The new manager has done a lot of things right in France, but has never managed a team outside his home country. Also, players like Mane, Pelle & Wanyama is history for Saints. But still, they have signed some very exciting players like Hojbjerg & Redmond & I think the Saints again can perform a good season. They were beating Watford 2-0 at home last season.
Might miss Bertrand, Fonte & Soares. Gardos is out.
Watford started the 15/16 season very well with Ighalo on fire. After christmas they were facing the reality though, and ended at 13. Absolutely a great season for the new promoted team. Now comes a new season with the new manager Mazzarri. They haven't lost any players and signed Zuniga. Recently they have failed to win against Lorient, QPR and Anzhi.
6-3-10 away record for Watford last season, with 8 losses in the last 10 away matches. They will miss Isaac Success and Brice Dja Djedje.
With the good pre season under Puel, I expect Southampton to start the season with 3 points. 3-0 :) GL
