Gorna vs Cherno More by GlacialSpirit

Third round of the Bulgarian first league opposes the teams of Lokomotiv Gorna Oryahovitsa and the leaders after the second round Cherno More Varna. The game will be played at stadium “Lokomotiv” in Plovdiv due to the fact that Loko Gorna’s stadium failed to get a license. So the home factor won’t matter much.

Lokomotiv Gorna started the season with a goalless draw against Neftochimic at home followed by a 2-1 defeat away at Pirin Blagoevgrad after stoppage time goal for Pirin. Loko plays decently well defensively but fails to create clear chances. So far their only goal came after a long range effort from substitute Atanas Fidanin and mistake from Pirin goalkeeper Rumen Sandev. Their attack is led by young striker Yanaki Smirnov but he is not the main problem as Loko simply fail to create goalscoring opportunities. Their midfield lacks creativity and makes too many errors while passing the ball. I believe their coach Angel Chervenkov will be more than happy with a draw and I expect to see Loko guarding the point and waiting for their chance on the counter.

Cherno More on the other side started on fire. Head Coach Georgi Ivanov “Gonzo” guided them to 2 victories and maximum number of points. First they won at Pirin Blagoevgrad away with a score of 3-1. In the second round they managed to get a home victory against Montana with 1-0 despite playing about 30min with 10 men after Todor Palankov picking 2 yellow cards in 62nd minute. Cherno More were the better team before the red card creating chances and pressing high. After that they had to play defensively to keep their small lead. They did that almost perfectly and despite Montana’s efforts they managed to keep hold of their lead. Ivanov is expected to field the same squad apart from Palankov who is banned for this game. His absence will be most likely handled by Jan Malik. Striker Marek Kuzma had problems last game after getting hit in his head several times but he is expected to be fine for the game. Former Bulgarian internationals full back Mihail Venkov, central defender Plamen Nikolov and veteran midfielder Georgi Iliev are also expected to start.

Last year both teams faced each other in the Bulgarian Cup with Cherno More winning both games with aggregate score of 6-0. The quality and experience are on the side of Cherno More and with their confidence being high after the good start of the season I expect them to continue the run and get all 3 points here. I placing my bet on Cherno More win and if someone wants to place a safer bet may use the DNB option.
