Zenit Petersburg vs Rostov FK by RTS1910

Zenit-Petersburg
VS
Rostov-FK
Only 2 rounds in the RPL but Zenit haven't really impressed under new coach Lucesco, both of their games finished in 0-0 draws so far. Top scorer Hulk also left in the summer and is yet to really be replaced.

Rostov started better but still only scored 1 goal in their 2 games so far, results 1-0 and 0-0 for them. I expect a very defensive approach from them here to frustrate a Zenit team with obviously more quality but haven't scored yet this season.

If we include the super cup Zenit scored 1 goal and conceded 0 in 3 games so far. I doubt they will find this game easy given how impressive Rostov were last season even if they lost some fire power, I expect a tight game with very defensive minded guests, I'd be surprised if we saw many goals in this match.pin

This preview is mediocre because:
1) We still don't know if one of the best goalscorers for Zenit from last season Artem Dzyuba will be back after absence in last games due to an injury, but he might be. Also latest signing Giuliano will finally be in squad tomorrow.
2) Zenit is on a bad streak, two 0-0 draw games is not very good for them. Expect them to be VERY dominant, given that they play at home.
3) The biggest one -- Do you not know what happened to Rostov in last week? Corruption strikes... They had the best coach in the the league Kurban Berdyev, but he got in a fight with one of the key people of the club Ivan Savvidi and left Rostov to join Spartak Moscow. New coach is still not named and Rostov, for the first time, will be under assistant coach Dmitry Kirichenko (technically for the second time, but last week Berdyev still was able to instruct his players in the dressing room and prepared them for the game). One of the best forwards Serdar Azmoun look like he only wants to play under Berdyev's coaching, so he earned a straight red card last week and will be absent. Kudryashov criticized the club for the whole situation and got a significant amercement. Bukharov said they are all in shock after what happened. All the non-Russian players specifically wanted to work with Berdyev (if you look closely, almost all of them worked with him at his previous club Rubin Kazan), so Christian Noboa, one of the best players, already said he will probably leave. Bastos looks like he prepares to leave, unclear situation with Ezzatolah, Navas and Dzhanaev. Imagine the atmosphere at the club days before they will face one of the best clubs in Russia.

I have a strong feeling Zenit will rip them apart, but given all that, would avoid betting on this game at all.
