Vandeweghe vs Bondarenko by Tennisguy

In this first round match from the Wimbledon Grand Slam Coco Vandeweghe from USA will play against Katerina Bondarenko from Ukraine.

Vandeweghe is ranked 30 and Bondarenko 60. They have only met once in a match that took place in 2006 at the Carlsbad WTA which was won by the ukrainian 6-4, 6-2. This year on grass courts Vandeweghe is 8-1 and Bondarenko 6-2.

Bondarenko played last week in the Eastbourne WTA tournament where she lost to eventual winner Cibulkova. Even so she did manage some good wins against Witthoeft, Kontaveit, Putintseva and Kuznetsova. She will have a though time on the american's serve which is quite powerful but I think she can hold her own as she has a more than decent serve herself.

I think the match will be a fairly close one and I wouldn't be surprised if we see one tiebreak if not more. That being said I look for value in bets and I just cannot pass going with Bondarenko here when I see such a discrepancy between the value of the players and the odds offered by the bookies.

I like this pick. Bondarenko plays very good lately.
