Italy vs Republic of Ireland by Cobbyj
Republic of Ireland having opened the 2016 European Championship with impressive display against Sweden, which was tainted by an own goal from Ciaran Clarck’s, Republic of Ireland failed to get back on their feet and suffered a compelling 3-0 loss in their next match to Belgium. The green army were left powerless, but manager Martin O’Neil apparently remains upbeat even though they suffered a heavy defeat. Ireland is faced with a great opportunity of beating a changed Italian side, while they will also have to hope that Sweden slip up to keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages alive. The Republic of Ireland’s task is even more worrying considering Martin O’Neill’s men have failed to win any of their previous 5 games.
Both Jon Walters and Wes Hoolahan are both carrying niggles so they are quite doubt for the the match.
The two weakest links, James McCarthy and Ciaran Clark are likely to be on the bench or just watching tonight.
Italy head into the game tonight in a relaxed state as have nothing to prove, which can be their main advantage in the match. The manager will more than likely give not so experienced players a run out, which could give motivation overdrive of the Irish side and with this in mind, feel this could be an open ended game. For this I'm going for Both teams to score.
