Portugal vs Austria by Rainbow-Bet
The EURO drama continues in group F, where both Portugal and Austria feels disappointed after their opening matches. Portugal's got one point, while Austria's got zero. Both teams are chasing three points today, we'll probably get an open and entertaining match from Parc des Princes in Paris. Kick off at 21.00 (CET).
Portugal is one of the outsiders in the tournament, but were disappointing against little Island in the opening match. Took the lead after a Nani goal in the 31.minute, but Island equalised in the second half with Bjarnasson, after marking failure in the Portugal box. Portugal controlled the game from start to the end, and had 27 shots against Island's 4. The efficiency must be better today.
Fernando Santos got a big solid squad, and will most likely make some changes in the midfield ahead of the game. Both youngster and newly signed Bayern player Renato Sanches and Eder are expected to start the match, while Mario and Andre Gomez will have a rest. Played in a 4-3-1-2 formation last match, but will probably play in a sort of 4-3-3 formation today, with Danilo and Renato Sanchez in a deeper midfield role, while Moutinho plays in a free role in the middle.
Expected lineup Portugal:
Vieirinha – Carvalho – Pepe – Guerreiro
R.Sanches – Moutinho – Danilo
Nani – Eder – C.Ronaldo
Austria were disappointed against a Hungary side who was ranked as one of the weakest teams in this years tournament, Hungary won 0-2. Hungary showed some quality and wasn't playing with eleven men behind the ball, as many experts predicted. An even match was changed when Szalai netted 0-1 for Hungary, and it got worst for Austria when centre back Alexander Dragovic got his second yellow card and was sent off. From here on and out it was difficult for Austria, and substitute Stieber secured the Hungary win with his 0-2 goal. Austria must have three points today, and a lot of pressure lies on the 23 years old shoulders of David Alaba, he's one of the biggest stars in this Austria squad.
Alexander Dragovic (defender) is of course suspended for this match, Zlatko Junuzovic (midfield) is also out injured. Is expected that Prödl and Sabitzer take over the starting positions. Austria's got a few «mood players» like Arnautovic, Harnik and Janko and the team moral isn't good after the defeat against Hungary. The precondition for this Austria side doesn't look good, they've also got a big pressure on themselves.
Expected lineup Austria:
Klein – Prödl – Hinteregger – Fuchs
Baumgartlinger – Alaba
Harnik – Sabitzer – Arnautovic
Austria must go high up field in this match, and that's perfect for Portugal. The worst thing you can do, is to give away spaces to Cristiano Ronaldo and company. Portugal's got quality in every positions, only possible weakness is the tempo to centre back Carvalho, but Austria striker Janko hasn't pace as his force. A energetic Renato Sanches gives Portugal running power and youngster bravery in the midfield, at the same time the big star Cristiano Ronaldo are waiting to open his goal scoring account in this tournament. We believe Ronaldo will put the ball in the net today, the match scenario is quite different today than against Island. We're guaranteed a lot of Portugal chances once again, perhaps with more precision and quality. We bet on a Portugal win combined with a Cristiano Ronaldo goal.
