England vs Wales by Cobbyj

Ok so after months of wondering what will happen in this fixture, we are finally here. The date has been circled on many peoples' calendars no doubt for months and hundreds of thousands will be probably watching this at work if you're like me! The banter now stops and it's time for the action (NO dig at Gareth Bale intended)

Wales have the advantage of an opening victory against Slovakia to sit pretty on, whilst England are on the back foot immediately after conceding a silly last minute goal to Russia, due to fatigue and lack of concentration. They won't want a repeat of that today!

In the build up to this game, Wales have waged a form of psychological warfare on England and Gareth Bale's name dominated proceedings, not simply because of the Real Madrid forward's world-class talent, but for the digs he has aimed in England's direction.

It wasn't enough that claiming England players simply lacked the passion of his team and that none of the English Squad would make it into Chris Coleman's team.

The Three Lions have no injury worries ahead for today's game, but coach Hodgson does face a selection nightmare, as he will have to make a tough choice between sticking to the last line up and formation used or shuffling things up and getting Stricker Vardy into the side. Also stopping Kane from taking corners would be a plus, but that's a personal choice of mine. Last season’s English Premier League top-scorer Harry Kane was the lone striker in the 1 all draw against Russia, but he had an awful game in my mind. I think give Vardy some lime light and also throw Rashford into the mix.

In midfielder there are tough decisions to make, as the likes of Jack Wilshere and Ross Barkley are vying for a starting eleven spot, which means either captain Wayne Rooney or Adam Lallana may make way.

Wayne Hennessey is the only doubt really for Wales in goal, as he is yet to fully recover from a back spasm.

This match will be tight. I think it could start cagey and then build up to an exciting second half. I thhink there will be more goals in the second half than the first because of this. I do think it could end up in a score draw,m although being English, would love the win. Thinking with my head I am going for a safer bet here of over 1.5 goals for the match as it could end 1-1 or 2-0 or even worse 0-2!
