Second round of group B is played today, Russia takes on Slovakia. After the Russians scored a late goal and manage to get a point against England in the opening match, it's Slovakia who are desperate after points in this match after loosing 2-1 against Wales in the first round of this group.

The Russian skipper Vasili Berezutski became the hero after scoring the equalizer in the 90th minute against England and secured one vital point. Russia can play with less pressure than Slovakia, and could go through from the group stage after today's match. They've got an experienced side with a high age, the most of the players are from Russia's top clubs Zenit St.Petersburg and CSKA Moscow. This Russia side is solid defensively with centre back duo from CSKA Berezutski and Ignashevich.

The team struggled offensively against England, but the working rate and a great team effort gave them a point in the end. Will most likely play in a similar formation like against England (4-2-3-1), with two defensive midfielders in Golovin and Neustadter. In attack they've got the power horse Dzyuba, who'll probably get difficult working conditions once more against Slovakia when he's up against Skrtel and Durica.

Expected lineup Russia:

Smolnikov – Ignasevich – Berezutski – Schennikov

Neustadter – Golovin

Smolov – Shatov – Kokorin

Slovakia must have points in this match to have a chance to get through from the group stage. The 2-1 defeat against Wales was an even match, where both side could scored the winning goal. Duda equalised to 1-1, but substitute Robson-Kanu made the final result 2-1 after his winning goal in the 81.minute. Slovakia's got a lot of creativity at the middle of the field with Mak, Weiss and the big star Marek Hamsik. But will Russia give these players space to show off tonight? Against Wales Marek Hamsik were taken out gradually in the match, and Slovakia wasn't able to create a lot of chances.

Played in a 4-5-1 formation against Wales, with wide offensive wingers in Mak and Weiss. 4 of the 5 Slovakia midfielders got booked in that match, in addition to Martin Skrtel. Especially the hard-working midfielder Juraj Kucha (AC Milan) is a dangerous man for Slvoakia when it comes to picking up cards.

Expected lineup Slovakia:

Pekarik – Skrtel – Durica – Svento

Mak – Hrosovsky – Kucka – Hamsik – Weiss

This match will give us a lot of bookings, against two sides with hard-working players full of enthusiasm. In Slovakia's chase for three points we'll perhaps see some frustration in this match.

Today's referee is Damir Skomina from Slovenia, he's in charge in his first match in this tournament. Skomina has been in charge in EURO 2012 qualifying (3 matches), EURO 2012 (3 matches), World Cup 2014 qualifying (5 matches) and EURO 2016 qualifying (4 matches). He's than been the ref in 15 important international matches and given out 3,8 yellow cards in average pr game. We are confident that he'll raise his average, and this match will give us over 4,5 cards.
