Turkey vs Croatia by Atipico07
After collecting only a single point in their opening three qualifiers, Turkey advanced to the finals in France. They have a good team with players that play in top clubs as Barcelona (Arda Turan) or Bayer Leverkusen (Calhanoglu). They are in amazing form as they have lost once in 16 matches and their good form comes despite a tough run of warm-up fixtures containing matches against England, Sweden and Austria that were designed to prepare their young squad for the Euros. They are big fighters but I don't think that they will be able to win against Croatia today.
Croatia, on the other hand, in this Euro has one of the best teams in Croatian football. They have experienced players (Srna), who have been to tournaments before, and they have new players, quality and young players as Kovacic or Brozovic..Croatia have lost just one of their last six group games at the European Championship..they have scored 20 goals in 10 matches conceding only 5. Their stars are Mario Mandzukic (he has scored three of Croatia's four goals at Euro 2012) and Ivan Rakitic (has created 35 chances during Euro 2016 qualifying - second only to Belgium's Kevin de Bruyne (37)).
The sides have met six times before, with Croatia winning twice and four games ending drawn. That includes a quarter-final at Euro 2008 which the Turks subsequently won on penalties.
Turkey will play defensive minded trying to not concede as they should play with only a striker and Croatia's defense is very strong (as I said before). Croatia is the better side but Turkey will play a good match imo. I am expecting a close game and a draw seems to be the right choice here.
