This is the first time that Slovakia have qualified as an independent nation and they only lost twice during the qualification. They finished second behind Spain overall. It is currently unbeaten in the last 8 games, including friendlies. The main player is Hamsik who plays for Napoli. Wales’s main man is Bale who can create a lot of issues especially from free kicks, Ledley will be out and Andy King will replace him. Both Joe Allen and Hal-Robson Kanu, who have recovered from knee and Achilles tendon injuries respectively, maybe will start from the bench.

They have had a few setbacks in friendlies recently and having not been in a major tournament in half a century can play a major role. A slow start is expected, as both teams will be keen to avoid defeat here, however I believe Slovakia is more ‘team’ and Kucka, Weiss, Mak and Hamsik have all good quality.
