England vs Russia by Rahul

England come into this group with some excellent form behind them, winning 10 straight games in qualifying and 10 out of their last 12 games. The team has a fresh blend of youth that has not been seen in many years in the England national team. Captain Wayne Rooney is the talismanic player for this team and a lot ride on him to create a lot of chances for the team since he will be sitting in a no.10 role behind the striker presumably Harry Kane. The defence has been showing to be struggling for a few opportunities and I expect James Milner and Eric Dier to be sitting in the middle to give some added protection to the back 4 against a Russian team who have managed to score in their last 10 straight games.

Russia have been struggled over the last 4 games, unable to keep clean sheets, and have won just 1 of those 3 games since. They almost beat Serbia in their last friendly, until they conceded in the 88th minute. They have just got beaten by France, Czech Republic and Croatia prior to that with an ageing defence; which does not bode well for their confidence. The Russians have one major advantage as they have 6 players coming out of the victories CSKA Moscow team who won the Russian Premier League. Artel Dzyuba was in form with 8 goals in the qualifying campaign which was only bettered by Lewandowski and Muller. They have lost Dzagoev and Denisov to injury and couple that with the warm weather temperatures in Marseille.

The young pacy youthful attack of England should have the advantage as compared to the Russian defence and thats why I back England to come out of this game with a victory.
