Zack Greinke (7-3 with a 4.29 ERA) takes the mound Tuesday night as the Diamondbacks look to avoid fourth straight loss at Chase Field and fifth in seven games in June.

Greinke is coming off his best start of the season, in which he yielded just 4 hits and struck out a season-high eleven batters over seven scoreless innings of a 3-0 win at Houston last Thursday.

The veteran right-hander had some problems in early season, but pitched well in most of his last four starts, surrendering three or fewer runs and lasting at least seven innings in three of those four outings (4-0 with a 2.57 ERA).

He’s posted a 2.61 ERA in his last six starts versus Tampa Bay, allowing 6 hits over 6 1/3 scoreless innings in the last of them on Aug. 10, 2013, while with the Dodgers.

Logan Morrison is 5-for-10, with two doubles, 3 RBI and two walks off Greinke, but Hank Conger, Evan Longoria and Desmond Jennings are a combined 7-for-35, though Longoria has a solo home run in the matchup.

Matt Moore (2-3 with a 5.46 ERA) will start for the Tampa Bay Rays, who seek a season-high fifth straight win and second in this series after Monday’s 6-4 victory.

The 26-year-old left-hander has allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last six starts, including 18 hits and 9 runs over ten innings in his last two road contests in Miami on May 23 (6-7) and at Target Field last Thursday (4-6).

Moore, who will make his first career start against the Diamondbacks, went 0-1 with a 6.33 ERA in his previous four road contests in 2016, posting a 6.47 ERA in eight road starts dating back to the All-Star break.

The Diamondbacks have .211 BA, with 25 runs and 7 HR from their last eight games (2-6), but scored four or more runs in four of their last five games at Chase Field (2-3).

David Peralta went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in his first game in nearly a month, Paul Goldschmidt has 3 hits in his last 9 at-bats, with 2 RBI and three walks, Yasmany Tomas went 6-for-23, with a homer and 3 RBI over his past six games, while Chris Owings went 2-for-3 in Monday’s series opener.

I think that the Arizona Diamondbacks will manage to win that game with more than one run difference. pin
