USA vs Colombia by Rahul

Colombia
The United States come into this group playing this tournament at home and will be looking to the leadership of Klinsmann to help steer them into the knockout stages of this tournament. They have come into decent form beating Guatemala, Ecuador, Puerto Rico and Bolivia heading into this tournament. Zardes, Pulisic and Wood have found their form in the new 4-3-3 formation that Klinsmann has gone with, slotting Clint Dempsey has a false 9 in the middle. They have managed to score in all of their games, and with the home crowd support; you can expect them to continue doing the same. Their defence however would be my worry coming into this game where players like Cameron and Brooks at the centre of the defence with Guzan at the back and a good attacking unit like Colombia could get them unstuck.

Colombia come into this tournament with some good form behind them, winning their last 3 games. With an attacking lineup that includes Carlos Bacca (netted 17 goals this season), Cuadrado (won the Italian double), Dayro Moreno (20 goals in Mexico) and James Rodriguez (won Champions League and runners-up in La Liga); you can definitely look at this team to be a dangerous outfit. Colombia have shown to be extremely shaky in defence though, having concede in 6 straight games and including against a poor Haiti team in their last friendly last week. Defensive liabilities like Zapata and Murillo at the heart of the defence, with Ospina between the poles, but has had limited opportunities to play this season, leaves them vulnerable at the back.

Both teams had scored in their last meeting, and I expect much of the same tonight, so I am backing both teams to score.
