Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid by FP

Real Madrid are aiming to win the Champions League final for a record 11th time as they face their city rivals Atletico Madrid in a repeat of the 2014 final. The final will be very spicy as Atletico will be looking to banish the memories of their defeat in 2014 and Madrid derbies are always feisty - just 7 miles separate the two clubs.

Real should fancy their chances again. They have the services of Christiano Ronaldo who is the competitions all time leading goalscorer with an amazing 93 goals. Ronaldo is also the leading goalscorer in this years competition. The three time Ballon d'Or winner has to get over a slight knock suffered in training but insists he will be ready and fully fit for the game. Plenty of pundits are saying that Ronaldo is past his best, but even if he is past his best then he is still a special player - he has still scored an incredible 51 goals this season alone.

Real manager Zinedine Zidane will be without the services of centre back Rafael Varane but otherwise has a fit squad to choose from. Benzema should start in the central striker role with support from Ronaldo and an in-form Gareth Bale who has really cemented his position as no10 in this star studded squad.

Atletico will fancy their chances here and plenty of fans will agree as their aggressive pressing style of play is extremely effective against most teams and they always pose an attacking threat through Griezmann in particular. Midfielder Koke is the star in my opinion and doesn't receive the recognition he deserves. There is a concern however that they seem to be the 'nearly men' and just fall short when it matters. They conceded a goal in the 93rd minute against Real Madrid in the 2014 final to let Real back into the game and never really recovered. They were also going very well in La Liga this season until weakening over the last four or five games.

I think at Real are one of the few teams who can cope tactically with Atletico's approach. Real will be happy to sit deep and rely on their front three to take their chances when they arise. Real are the team with proven ability in this sort of game and I will always stick with the team that has been there and done it before over the team with inexperience or a team used to falling just short.

It will make for a good match, but I will be backing Real Madrid to deliver when it matters most. Back Real with the insurance of draw no bet so you get your cash back if the game goes to extra time again.

Real Madrid 2-0 Atletico Madrid. I dont see Atletico getting much chances at Milano, where Madridistas will show better performance, no doubt. I expect Real to take middle line and Atletico to have problems with cards. Red card wouldnt surprise me.
