Canada vs Finland by Dartagnan
Finland is the best Ice Hockey National Team today in the World. No doubt. What they did today to the Russians will go down the history as one of the most heroic efforts by the Finns ever as everything went against them from the very beginning against the team that thrives on early success and destroys you, especially in front of the home crowd cheering Shaibu Shaibu and Molodtsi throughout the whole game. The Finn supporters were hardly heard in the first period as naturally they too were overwhelmed by the Russian bulldozer sweeping one offensive assault on Koskinnen after another. The only party that was not impressed or overwhelmed by what was happening and continued quietly to get better with each play was Finland squad showing resilience and character like I expected them. In the second period everything was different as the Finns were the dominant ones and they outplayed the Russians in every aspect of the game scoring 3 times (2 PPG).
Ovechkin continued his Mafia like behavior only that the refs didn't think he was Don Corleone and sent him away for a stupid penalty that was the conclusion of his stupid play at the Finnish zone losing the puck irresponsibly and being late of defense.
Canada defeated USA 4-3 after plundering the two goal lead but then scoring another decisive one in the third to send the Americans packing (not really LOL since the Americans will still have to play against the Russians in a stupidest game of all - the Third Place game).
Finland has already beaten Canada 4-0 few days ago so I really do not understand the respect the Canadians are getting from odds makers but I will take the 1.95 odds with pleasure as I think the odds should have been 1.72 Finland.
Well, good luck on this one and I hope be able to watch the Championship all the way next year as this year I had to come back home after the quarterfinals. But I enjoyed every minute of my stay in Russia! Spasibo!!!
