Molde vs Brann by ScandinavianSR

The 12th round of the Norwegian Tippeliga commenced yesterday, and on this very day a match between Molde Fotballklubb (MFK) and SK Brann is taking place at Aker Stadion.

Molde is one of the only two Norwegian football teams to have participated in the UEFA Champions League. Last year they started off playing second qualifying rounds against Pyunik and won the first leg 5-0 and lost the other 1-0. They went forward to the third qualifying rounds against Dinamo Zagreb. Their away fixture ended 1-1, and therefore they were favourites to continue on, but they literally messed up at home getting a 3-3 draw, and therefore Zagreb won on away goals. They were "relegated" to the play-offs of Europe League and won their first game 2-0 at home against Standard Liege. They lost the away fixture 2-1, but due to the away goal they were qualified for the group stages where they beat Fenerbahce once, Celtic once and drawed with Ajax twice, which was more than enough to qualify for the Round of 32. They were unfortunate to pick Sevilla, and they ended up losing the away fixture 3-0. However, at home they won against Sevilla 1-0, but that wasn't enough, and that's where the journey ended for Molde.

Molde won the Tippeliga in 2014, but they finished as 6th last year. Rosenborg is current champions with nothing more than 23 championships won throughout the football team's existence. With Molde's terrible performance last year they've come back and are currently placed third in the table with 21 points from 11 fixtures. Molde has won 4/5 fixtures at home this season and drawed once against Tromsø. However, their away fixtures have not turned out as expected, since they've only gotten eight points from their six away fixtures.

Today Molde welcome Brann, a team that has been in the Norwegian Tippeliga since 1987 but was relegated at the end of the 2014 season. However, they were promoted at the end of the 2015 season to the Tippeliga once again. They have been doing quite well at home obtaining thirteen points from five fixtures without conceding any goals. They too haven't had success at away fixtures, and when they are welcomed at Aker Stadion in Molde later today you couldn't expect anything but a home win for Molde.

If we're taking a look at these two teams earlier fixtures, Molde has won 3/4: two at home and one away. Brann welcomed Molde in the beginning of the 2013 season where they defeated them 1-0. Molde dominated throughout the match, but the defence was strong that day. A few months after Molde welcomed Brann and beat them 2-0. Molde welcomed them once again a year after and beat them 4-2. Two months after Brann welcomed Molde once again, but it was Molde who dominated the match entirely even though they only won 1-0.

Molde is a strong team at home, and you can't expect anything else but a home win. I would have recommended to play 1 & over 2.5 goals in the match, but Molde's latest home fixture against Aalesund scares me a little. Molde were favourites to win at the -2 AH, but no goal was scored for over 90 minutes. Three minutes into the injury time, Gulbrandsen finally scored the important goal and let Molde win 1-0 with 64% ball pocession and 27 shots. The safest bet would be to back Molde at 1.58

Moldes top scorer Elyounussi is out. 1-1 or 0-0

- Just because one player is out doesn't mean that it's gonna be a draw. You do know that it's only the 12th round, right? Even though Elyounoussi has scored 4, there are still a bunch of other players who have scored three and two goals. It doesn't matter. Take Gulbrandsen, Strand, Amang and Gudjohnsen for example. What a ridiculous argument you came up with.
