Olympiakos vs AEK Athens by DrVonKlaps
Keep in mind that there will be no spectators. This is really sad and I dont want to make any other comment about. This is not my job.
Olympiakos, Greek Champion seems the clear favorite. The bad news about Olympiakos is the absence of playing action: last official match (for the League) was as long as 1 month ago against Kalloni (5-0 win). There also was a frinedly match against Red Star Belgrade (2-2 draw). Olympiakos has also the essential right back Omar Elabdellaoui out, because of injury.
AEK on the other hand has runs a more full playing action, participating in the League Play-Offs. Last match just a few days ago, a 2-1 away defeat vs PAOK. Important midfielder Mantalos will be back after injury. Hélder Barbosa (winger) is suspended.
Looking at the odds, 2,50 for both teams to score looks kind of weird. Two of the top teams in Greece play for the Cup and the bookmakers believe that there wont be goals eachside?
If you look League statistics closer, you will see that Olympiakos has a 57% clean sheet rate (with a failed to score rate as low as 3%). AEK statistics show a clean sheet rate of 53% and a failed to score rate of 30%. This explains probably the odds, with the difference that Olympiakos' form is somehow lost because of a lack of matches. So these statistics (and Olympiakos' clean sheet rate) are of limited value. Keep in mind that important right back of Olympiakos is missing and that they conceded 2 goals in an friendly 10 days ago.
Believing that odds are somehow wrong, I will place a bet to Both Teams to Score.
Frankly i dont know the influence of a non crowded stadium to goal scoring ability. Motivation from the crowd is probably lacking but on the other hand, players will be more focused.
