Seppi vs Gasquet by Igrok

Seppi
VS
Gasquet
Rome, 2. round, clay

Gasquet (12) will play against Seppi (42)

Gasquet has a chance to do better than last year and reached R16 in Rome. He is 4/2 on clay this season and won easily against Benneteau in 1R. He doesn’t have a fantastic history here having reached the semifinal only in 2011 and quarterfinal in 2012. Seppi cames back playing after two months of inactivity due to hip issues. His injury did not require a surgery but basically every six months he has to undergo a hip treatment consisting of an infiltration, one takes place at the end of a year and second in the early spring. The treatment he uses requires three weeks of inactivity. He is here just because Baghdatis withdrew due to personal issues. Seppi suffered a lot during the first round against Pospisil winning for 2 sets to 0 but both on tiebreak. Pospisil doesn’t win on clay since 2013 and he is currently in really bad shape, 4/12 his overall record this season

Gasquet is in better shape and he is clearly a better player, this will be a bad match up for the Italian (head to head is 5-1 for Gasquet, 2 wins on clay)
