NY Yankees vs Boston by Sors

Nathan Eovaldi (1-2 with a 5.46 ERA) takes the mound on Saturday afternoon, as the Yankees seek a second straight win for the first time since April 22-23.

It won’t be an easy task actually, given the fact that the 26-year-old right-hander had really big problems in his previous start against the Red Sox this year, allowing a season-high 6 runs on 10 hits over five innings of a 7-8 loss at Fenway Park last Sunday.

Eovaldi posted a 5.73 ERA in four career starts versus Boston and a 5.54 ERA in his last ten starts at Yankee Stadium.

Dustin Pedroia is hitting .556 (5-for-9) with a solo home run off him, David Ortiz is 4-for-8 with a walk, Hanley Ramirez is 6-for-16, with a homer and 6 RBI, Jackie Bradley Jr. is 1-for-2 with a walk, while Ryan Hanigan has 1 hit in 2 at-bats in the matchup.Travis Shaw has 1 hit in 5 at-bats off Eovaldi, but this hit was a two-run home run.

Boston counters with David Price (4-0 with a 6.14 ERA), whose early-season struggles continue, as the left-hander gave up 8 hits and 6 runs over seven innings in a 8-7 win against the Yankees last Sunday.

On the other hand, Price posted a 2.57 ERA in his previous two road contests this season and is 4-0 with a 1.94 ERA in six starts in the Bronx over the past three years. The 30-year-old lefty yielded 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out seven through five innings in his last start at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 11, 2015 (11-5), while in Toronto.

In addition to that, Price has received at least six runs of support in five of his previous six starts this season, while the Red Sox have .309 BA, with 58 runs and 13 HR from their last ten games (7-3).

The New York Yankees, on the other hand, were limited to two or fewer runs in six of their last nine games (2-7) and have .212 BA, with 23 runs and 4 HR over that span.

Chase Headley is 9-for-22, with two doubles, triple, 3 RBI and a walk off Price, Brian McCann is hitting .345 (10-for-29), with 3 HR, 7 RBI and a walk against him, while Didi Gregorius is 3-for-11, with an RBI and a walk, but Headley has just 1 hit in his last 9 at-bats, while Didi Gregorius went 1-for-6 over his last two games.

Jacoby Ellsbury (strained right hip) will most likely miss that game, while Alex Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday.Ellsbury is 23-for-66, with a homer, 5 RBI and three walks off Price, while Rodriguez is 16-for-63, with 2 HR, 8 RBI and six walks.

I think that the Red Sox will tie the series with a win in that game.
