Clermont - Brest

Clermont was another nice team to watch for their offensive minded approach for almost all games. Under Corrine Diacre’s command, Clermont were more than ever in recent times, closed to a promotion spot. Some inexplicable home results in latest 6 rounds when they lost 4 times (against Auxerre, Red Star and in last game Tours) made they to say “bye - bye” to 3rd spot with 3-4 rounds to go. Having powerful strikers: top scored of the League Diedhiou, Laborde, Dugimont and Hounou they were constant threat for any other team. But if in recent seasons they were quite better on the road, this season they lost from this power remaining only an average team speaking about on the road games. Perhaps the thinks were happier for them if they have collected more point on the road. Remain a good season for them being no matter what others say. Boulaya, Diedhiou, Djellabi are injured.

Once again Brest had a bellow expectation season, finishing somewhere at the middle of the table. With 46 points collected so far, they are on 10th spot – there where we found them almost all long season. They lost from their power when before the start of the season sold almost completely their good defense and brought back some poor replacement. Some changings are in front of them, their coach Alex Dupont leaving Brest after these two remaining games. A coach who perhaps took almost all from a mediocre team who wasn’t exempt from some scandals (see Adnane’s one). Good job for him and everybody from Brest will say thanks after the last game. Tie Bi and Adnane are not in the squad.

Nothing at stake here for any of the team, so let’s hope we will see an open game with lot of goals in it. gl
