Metz a team whit much better results than their overall evolutions. As I said many times they had plenty of lack in first part of the season when they were for most of the time in top 3 and one of the main candidate for promotion. But that lack let them for few rounds and seemed Metz will slide in the table. A coach changing, “defensive minded” Philippe Hinschberger took over, and buying of striker Bekamenga (from Lens) led the team again in promotion fight and now with 2 rounds to go they need a single win to promote. An incredible win 4-0 away at Dijon made them favorite for 3rd spot now. Wasn’t a game in one direction as the result will suggest, Dijon being for more than one hour the better team. But lack of concentration in Dijon’s defense made the score to be 4-0. For sure they will play here to win and to celebrate their promotion (much better goal difference than LeHavre, and difficult to believe LeHavre will score 8 goals more than Metz in the remaining rounds in order to hope at promotion in case of points tie) but let’s not forget Tours ended promotion hopes for Clermont couple of rounds ago when they won surprisingly 1-0 on the road.
Under a new coach the Italian striker Marco Simone, Tours became this season an “Italian style” team. Defending minded team for most of games, Tours had an average season keeping in mind their squad and their problems. They were completely changed team compared with previous seasons offensive minded Tours, but once again, with the material had under his command Simone did a fairly good job. After selling their best striker Kouakou, Simone promoted in the latest rounds some youngsters (Bedia for example) who didn’t disappointing him at all. For sure at this time there is a good atmosphere in the squad, despite they have off-football problems. Perhaps Simone will leave the team after these 2 rounds, their best man GK Camara will be sold in order for Tours to survive. For this last trip of the season Santamaria is suspended.
I beg your pardon? 1.4 for Metz win? Tours, despite having noting to play for, will defend and they will defend well. All the world will back tomorrow Metz and perhaps they will have a disillusion at the end of the game:) Tours put an end to Clermont dreams for promotion in previous trip, why not to be able to snatch a point here? Tours +1ah at a generous odd. gl
