Thompson vs Trungelliti by Miaunel
I don't see how Trungelliti could win this one.
1/16 finals here in Rome with Trungelliti(181 atp) at his 3rd try this year on clay. In first try he started in Barcelona 2 wekks ago and had japanese Uchiyama(287 atp) almost losing the 2nd set, 6-4 7-5 top stop in the next and last round of quals'. at russian yougster Khachanov(125) losing the tb in the 3rd set that lasted 1 hour.
Next try was in Estoril and that really unexpected ended at canadian Steven Diez(266 atp) into in the bag sets 6-3 6-2.
He had luck in Portugal cause french Roger-Vasselin(188 atp) could've had him in 3rd set but the french retired not even starting the 3rd set.
Meanwhile, first try for the AUstralian was 2 weeks ago in China, at Nanjing, losing to lithuanian Berankis(55 atp) in semifinals, that I recall to be much strong than Trungelliti, and more constant for sure.
Against Berankis he lost 7-6 7-5. Very strong result.
Still in China, he continued with the An-Ning tournament where he did actually win it passing players like Ramirez Hidalgo and Nedovyesov in 3 sets and french Bourgue in minimum in the final.
Bourgue did climbed alot to reach 170 atp and so did Jordan to reach 90 atp.
Theoretically the argentinian should not take more than 1 set.
