The Kings will visit Chicago tonight after winning at MSG, against Carmelo-less NY Knicks. The hosts are in a must-win state because their playoff hopes depend on it. Chicago battles Detroit for the 8th spot in the East which leaves no room for error tonight. Sacramento,on the other side, will miss the playoff yet again this year but the team is making it clear that they want to win as many games as possible on the remaining schedule. The Kings displayed good defensive performance last night, holding the Knicks to just 80 points, but tonight they will face a more difficult challenge guarding Chicago's Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose, who are thriving as two lead players at this moment. However, Chicago will have troubles matching up with Sacramento in the paint as Pau Gasol is out with an injury, as is Joakim Noah for quite some time.
Chicago is tough to beat at home but the Kings could surprise tonight if they manage do get defensive stops. The home side is not left with a lot of options offensively, their bench is practically non-existent from time to time and they heavily rely on Butler and Rose. In their away wins this season Sacramento usually displayed good performance on the defensive end so its logical that they will show up defensively in order to be victorious tonight. I expect a low scoring contest with neither team allowing any easy baskets.
