The last two matches between the two have seen Liverpool leave the pitch the best team even though they lost 0-1 at home in the League. In the first leg an awkward penalty and terrible defending from Carrick lead to Liverpools goals but the reality is David De Gea was the difference once again, saving at least 3 big chances.
Liverpool didn't play last weekend so will have fresh legs as well as extra time to focus on this match. Manchester United played West Ham in a 1-1 thriller, a late Martial goal levelled Payets opening goal and secured United a replay in their pursuit of getting into the FA Cup semi-finals. Once again United gave away chances that kept De Gea on his toes, while being mild in attack. They can be happy that some senior players such as Schweinsteiger and Valencia return to the squad but the main problem is their attacking quality.
The tip is based on the need for goals in this match. United must score 2, while Liverpool can settle for 1. With United's defence and Liverpools counter attacking play, the guest will definitely have a good chance of scoring, while United will have to hope Martial, Mata, Depay and Lingard can get them the goals needed.
I doubt Liverpool will park the bus in this match so I expect a similar approach like last week, while United will be hoping to put in a performance similar to their home match against Midtjylland.
Four of the last five h2h matches played at Old Trafford have ended with at least 3 goals.
Alternative bets :- Sturridge to score and both teams to score.
