Wolfsburg vs Gent by Sors
Wolfsburg: Casteels – Trasch, Dante, Knoche, Rodriguez – Gustavo, Guilavogui, Schurrle, Arnold, Draxler – Caligiuri
Gent: Sels – Asare, Nielsen, Gershon, Kums, Neto – Dejaegere, Milicevic, Foket – Coulibaly, Simon
Wolfsburg has one goal advantage from the first leg in Belgium (3-2), in an exciting match, in which both teams managed to create many good scoring opportunities, but the experience of the German team and some mistakes in the Belgian defense gave the victory to Wolfsburg.
The hosts will enter the game in a good form, having won four of their last six games, with one draw in the visit to Hertha Berlin on Feb. 20 (1-1) and more or less expected defeat at home against Bayern Munich on Feb. 27 (0-2).
Gent is a team with enough quality in attack to score at least one goal in this match at Volkswagen Arena, but the defense is definitely the Achilles’ heel of this team and I expect big problems for the Belgian team against an opponent with a powerful attack like Wolfsburg.
On the other hand, the guests have nothing to lose and at some point Gent will need to start playing even reckless in attack, which is a prerequisite for many goals in this match.
Benaglio (first goalkeeper), Naldo (def.), Jung (def.) and Dost (forw. / 7 goals) are still unavailable for the home team due to injuries, while Kruse (forw. / 6 goals) also had some problems in injury, but most likely will be ready on time for this match.
Gent will travel to Germany without Mitrovic (def. / 1 goal) and Van der Bruggen (midf. / 1 goal), while Depoitre (forw. / 12 goals) remains doubtful.
Like in the first leg in Belgium, I expect more than two goals in this match and Wolfsburg to win.
