Juventus and Bayern Munchen will meet tonight in one of Round of 16th most interesting clashes. Juventus is riding high at the moment in Serie A, after a poor start to the season an impressive run of 15 consecutive victories saw they rocketing to the top of the table. In the last round in Serie A they only managed a draw in Bologna, but since Napoli wasn't able to beat Milan yesterday they will retain the top spot for the moment. Of course Serie A is at it's lowest level in the last decades, so this impressive run nonetheless, should be put into context. Bayern Munchen on the other hand manages to see off the danger posed by a racy Borussia Dortmund since the bavarians win their matches against weak opposition even when their performances are clearly subpar. Since the winter break they still look a little bit rusty; of course they still dominate the likes of Hoffenheim, Augsburg and Darmstadt with possession in the high 70s (percent) but they don't have that many breakthroughs, they created less opportunities than usual and they are far from clinical in front of the goal when they do breakthrough.
Reverting to today's game I have no doubt that this will be cagy encounter, with Bayern having the ball, trying to impose their rythm. Juventus will have no other option but to take the backseat, they will rely on counters but I think they'll be pretty satisfied with a goalless draw also, which, for me, is the most probable result.
