Queretaro vs Tigres UANL by MagicRat
Six games into the Mexican Clausura and Tigres UANL are four points clear of their opponents today, Queretaro, with Tigres on 10 points and Queretaro on 6 points.
Queretaro have lost all three of their away matches this campaign and they have only scored one goal in the process. However, they are a different proposition at home where they have picked up all six of their points courtesy of two victories. They have scored six goals in their opening three home matches having found the net twice in their last home game and three times in the game before that. Their opening home match resulted in a game over 3.5 goals as they lost 3-1.
Queretaro possess the league's joint top goalscorer from the Apertura, Vila, with 13 goals but he has only managed two goals so far this campaign. The positive, however, is that both of these goals have come in home matches an eight of his 13 goals from the Apertura also came in home matches, so he is clearly more likely to produce in home matches.
Tigres have seen plenty of goals in their first six games of the season with three of their matches having over 3.5 goals and two of these matches have come in away games. Furthermore they have scored two or more goals in four of their six matches, including in two away matches which have seen them score three goals in their last away match and two in the one before that. Like Queretaro they have conceded in five of their six matches.
Also like Queretaro they have one of the league's best strikers in Gignac who netted 11 times in the Apertura but has already scored six goals in the Clausura, which puts him top of the goal scoring table for the current campaign.
Both teams have started the season scoring well and neither defence has been great at keeping clean sheets and with both teams possessing a very good striker there's a good chance of goals in this game, therefore I'm going to be betting on over 3.5 goals.
