Roma vs Real Madrid by Gilles
Real Madrid is favorite to win this match and I think that is about correct. Still, Roma didnt lose at home in Champions League. But recognize Roma probably had some luck at home with 1-1 visit of Barca, it was still early then in season and Barcas attack line played also in Copa America in june-july.
Roma did play alot of draws in weaker form (8). They only lost once in regular competiton at home against Atlanta 0-2. Other loses where in Juve and Inter, both times 1-0 for home team, and at Sampdoria 2-1.
Real Madrid made a good performance in Champions League group stage, Real only lost points in Paris with at 0-0 draw. Real switched coach after they tied in Valencia 2-2 at beginning 2016 (Valencia is playing weak season). With Zidane they also tied at Betis 1-1 and they not really conviced at bottom ranked Granada with 1-2 victory, so we could argue Real isnt as convincing as vistors, the big scores only happen at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Roma are lucky to be in round of 16 with 6 points, and maybe they dont deserve to be with last 16 of CL, but Roma is now playing better then in Fall of 2015 and Real Madrid should not underestimate this team of Italian competition who ended 2nd in last season.
Possible line-up Real: Keylor Navas, Dani Carvajal (Marcelo), Raphaël Varane, Sergio Ramos, Danilo, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco, James Rodríguez, Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo
Out: Bale (calf), Pepe (foot), Abner (knee)
Doubtful: Marcelo (shoulder)
Misses next match if booked: Casemiro
Possible line-up Roma: Wojciech Szczesny, Alessandro Florenzi, Konstantinos Manolas, Antonio Rüdiger, Lucas Digne, Radja Nainggolan, Daniele De Rossi, Miralem Pjanic, Mohamed Salah, Edin Džeko, Stephan El Shaarawy
Out: Capradossi (knee)
Doubtful: De Rossi (calf), Totti (calf)
Misses next match if booked: De Rossi, Nainggolan
Im not sure Real will go back to Madrid with win in Roma. This is Champions League, much glory is on table, so I dont like taking risk with money for 1.80 in return at this level. I certainly think the possibility exsist, but I think Roma is good Italian club and Italians are known for their defense. Real is also having trouble to mimic performances they show at Bernabeu. So for Ronaldo and co, it will be a hard task to score here in Roma. So I see possibilities in a draw here. Ofcourse, Real Madrid has one of better attack lines in European football then many of clubs Roma played this season, but remember Real also had some little troubles this season, partly the reason why Zidane got in place as coach. And the record of Zidane may look impressive but this is also his first meeting with big opponent were much is on the line and they not playing at home.
I think this match has a possible result of draw in it, something like 1-1 or 2-2. My bet for this match is a draw or X at a smaller stake. Good luck!
