Vaduz vs Young Boys by MrDomez
> FC Vaduz, 9th (18p, 3-9-7, -7)
Probably the biggest surprise coming out of the winter break was the fact that Vaduz won away to Lugano with a score of 5-2. With those three points they were able to move out of 10th (relegation) position and got a huge morale boost for the upcoming games.
The game was a really strange one, Lugano came out on the attack and left themselves too vulnerable on the counter attack and Vaduz was able to take advantage of that. They took the lead early and scored the second goal right before halftime. Two more counter attacks led to their third and fourth goal and the game was long over by then.
Vaduz played a good game but we shouldn't get fooled by that result, could have gone the other way in the first half and this win was definitely an outlier and not the norm.
Hard to tell how much the loss of former captain and most important player Neumayr will affect them. On the other hand they made some good moves to improve their below average team. Loan player Sadiku scored twice and new loan Gülen (GC, Swiss U21) should be able to contribute as well.
No injuries or suspensions of note.
> Young Boys, 3rd (29p, 7-8-4, +8)
It was kind of a typical YB game last week against Grasshoppers. A very good and positive start to the game and big chances. A 2-0 lead after 30' would have been fair but instead it was 1-1. After finally converting one of their chances they gave their hard earned lead away only a few minutes later by conceding from a corner kick. After that the game was more even and the longer the game went on the better Grasshoppers played, in the end YB was somewhat lucky to come out of this with a point.
New signing Ravet and Hoarau returning from injury definitely improved their squad.
Left defender Hadergjonaj and defensive midfielder Bertone are suspended for this game.
Vaduz won away from home. YB only drew at home but still, it was Lugano for the hosts and Grasshoppers for the guests, GC are 2nd for a reason and tough to beat, even league leaders Basel lost to them at home. If YB come out in a similar way than last week and take a few of their chances they won't have much trouble taking all three points from this.
Score prediction: 1-3
