Norwich vs Southampton by Marcelino

Norwich
VS
Southampton
Norwich have been playing some decent football! They are having a decent season for a promoted side and are currently in 15th place. They have a full squad available for this match. They got a good win against Aston Villa in their last match 2-0 at home. They lost to Spurs 3-0 before that away from home, but before that match, they got 3 points away to Man Utd getting a historic 2-1 win there, taking full advantage of Man Utd's crisis.

Southampton have been very inconsistent. They had a lot of expectation behind them after a great season last season, but they disappointed. I think they are overrated at the moment because of their trashing of Arsenal, a team they historically have a great record against. However, that was their only win in their last 8 matches. They are only 4 points above Norwich.

The odds favour Southampton but I don't think they will win here. They only have 2 away wins all season in 9 matches, getting a lucky win away to Chelsea in the midst of their crisis and a 1-0 win thanks to a penalty away to 2nd bottom Sunderland. On the other hand, Norwich at home are unbeaten in their last 4 matches, including a draw 1-1 vs Arsenal and Everton and wins over Villa and Swansea. So the odds on Southampton are too low to back them. But Southampton did draw 4 of their 9 away games, and with very little between the 2 teams, I will go for a draw here, as both teams will be happy with that result.

I don't know why the odds favor the Southamptons. I see Norwich winning this one. Last time out they were beaten by Southampton 3-0. The red card to Whittaker in the 31st minute likely contributed to Norwich's heavy loss. I don't believe they will draw this one, but in football anything is possible!!!
