Eibar vs Valencia by FP
It was a surprise to most people when Valencia owner Peter Lim hired Neville until the end of the season as he has very limited managerial experience, having worked as Roy Hodgson's assistant with England but nothing more. He does certainly have a good football brain though and does have all the attributes to be a successful manager even if starting at Valencia may seem a bit too much too soon.
Prior to the Champions League defeat in midweek, Neville had watched from the stands as his team fought out a 1-1 draw with Barcelona in La Liga, Santi Mina scoring a late equaliser to lift Valencia to 8th in the table. Neville certainly has quality players at his disposal - Alcacer and Negredo will both score goals and the rest of the team seems well balanced at first glance. Previous coach Nuno did not live up to what was expected considering the strong squad available and Neville will have to finish in the top 4 or 5 places to be considered a success at the end of the season.
If Valencia are to finish top four then they need to be beating teams like Eibar. They are no pushovers and have home advantage but Eibar are quite limited and mid table is the realistic expectation. Eibar lost 2-1 away to Real Sociedad to make it three defeats on the bounce and if Gary Neville gets a reaction from his Valencia players then they have the ability to inflict a fourth successive defeat on Eibar. I do not expect this to be easy, but I will be backing Valencia to prevail.
You can back the Valencia win outright at odds of 3.00, Valencia in the 'draw no bet' market at 2.00, or even 'Valencia to either win or draw' at odds of 1.50 - all of which are good bets, but I will be backing in the draw no bet market at 2.00.
