Peterborough vs Barnsley by Hassy

Peterborough
VS
Barnsley
A week ago I wrote a preview on here telling everyone that The Posh were showing signs of improvement. Well since my last preview they have two wins from two games, scored seven goals and conceded two. Their climb up the division since the appointment of Graham Westley continues and they now sit just 3 points outside the Play Off places. A 1-5 win at bottom club Crewe further boosted the confidence for Peterborough players and it is now 6 wins from ten games under his stewardship.

The Posh's last home game was a match I previewed on Betshoot (they won 2-1) so I will gladly return in the hope of picking another winner as they host a woeful Barnsley side in the relegation places and ended a run of eight straight defeats with an extremely fortuitous win away at fellow strugglers Oldham. Peterborough have now gone on a mini run of wining three of their last four matches on home turf with a 4-0 win over Doncaster Rovers and a 5-3 victory over Millwall. Twenty goals scored in their ten home matches shows that scoring goals isn't an issue.

Peterborough United have a central defensive problem ahead of tomorrow’s home game with Barnsley at the ABAX Stadium.

Ricardo Santos and Jack Baldwin are suspended, while Gaby Zakuani won’t be available because of a hamstring injury. Shaun Brisley is also unavailable because of injury. Michael Bostwick is an experienced centre-back, but he has no obvious partner tomorrow.

As previously mention tonight's opponents ended a woeful run of eight straight defeats with an away win at Oldham. This has given Barnsley manager a stay of execution but Barnsley's struggles are pretty strange. They have one of the largest wage bills in the division and are the league's biggest underperformers so far. Currently in the relegation places Barnsley have six of their nine away league games and have not conceded a single clean sheet in nine games on the bounce and counting. In fact, only Colchester United have conceded more away goals than them this season!

Posh with the like of Maddison, Anderson, Washington and Coulibaly have been scoring goals for fun. Against a brittle barsnley defence I just cant see anything other than a high scoring home win. Odds of over evens make the bet even more appealing. The Posh are the third highest home scorers in the league and with injury problems of their own at the back expect them to attack, attack and attack!pin
